After listening to the stories about the lives of poor children in South India, during one of the many EducationPhotography events created by PROART PROJECTS, the students from Pedro Penzol Primary School in Puerto de Vega, Asturias (North of Spain), had a lovely idea.

The youngest students decided to make some dolls with recycled materials to send them to India, so those kids would have something to play with.
Three big boxes filled with handmade toys travelled through Spain, from Puerto de Vega to Gijón, and then, to Madrid.

Some of them were brought to India a couple of months later, in the following travel of PROART PROJECTS in January 2015. And were handed to the children at the orphanages in Andhra Pradesh.

Many other dolls couldn’t make it that time, but they became “The Proarties”. An idea, a project, a goal.

This is a small selection of the many characters.

More Proarties were taken to India in the next trip of PROART PROJECTS in January 2016.

Those Proarties who are not in India yet, will be travelling around the world collecting messages from other children from different countries and cultures, as part of the The Proarties: The Project, in order to give those kids the opportunity to get to know each other and their lives. Which is the main goal of PROART’s Education Project. Some of them have already been part of the activities and events held in schools in London.

Other Proarties have been lent to people, so they and their kids can show their culture, school and enviroment to other children with messages, pictures and videos.

This will be the use for these Proarties before they get to meet the other dolls in India.
